Drupal in libraries

Hi,

There was a BoF " Drupal in libraries" planned today at 2.50 in Rockefeller. Didn't meet anyone there unfortunately... As I didn't know beforehand who would join I couldn't contact anyone. I am interested in talking about applications in libraries. Hope to have a new opportunity tomorrow? My personal special interests: Islandora module for coupling between Fedora repository and Drupal; Drupal as a discoverytool; OAI-PMH; Presentation of METS in Drupal; SOPAC etc. Please let me know if anyone is interested in a new BoF about this subject.

New Core themes for D7 - can we make it happen?

Drupal Designers, here is your challenge:

The 'old school' themes like Bluemarine, Pushbutton et al have been successfully removed from Drupal 7 core. Hooray.
But alas, now there is a big void, and Garland has taken over completely.

Is there a chance we can get some nice themes into core for Drupal 7? All the markup cleanup, the integration of Stark and what more should make that - technically spoken - easier than ever.
But as always, someone has to step up and lead the efforts to give Drupal 7 new clothes.

Any education folks here be interested in a BOF to talk about how you are using Drupal, specific issues with breaking into the .edu sphere, and breaking down the barriers for edu institutions adopting CMS in general? I'm in higher ed specifically, but I'd be open to talking with folks at all level of institutions.

We have been building our site for a two years. By the time we are able to allocate resources to a Drupal upgrade, 7 will be good to go.

How do I make the most of my resources and just jump to 7 ?
What are the key challenges we are going to face ?
What work can we skip ?
How can we share the load and make skipping easier for everyone ?

Drupal for Startups

I am a founder of a Drupal based startup. In the last year I have ended up spending loads of investor money to build a big Drupal site. It's a very different world to that of a Drupal consultant, and it has a whole new set of challenges.

User testing is the most direct way to find out if the interface gets the job done for the user.
This is about collecting ideas, and getting people together who are interested in user testing and how to leverage it for the benefit of drupal.

Shakaflex galore

Show-off/open for suggestions session to demonstrate our base theme Shakaflex (written by the inimitable Shakaman), with a UI permitting to configure regions, blocks, auto ie png fix stuff, colors, backgrounds, premade skins....

So basically you get a twofer.. a base theme (where everything can be controlled/customized) but where you don't start from zero, the css guy can do just css: You can make 90% of the work of executing a custom template from a PSD through the UI.

The theme will be released just after the conference and we want to get in as much feedback as possible

Drupal and NGO Friday 10 AM

Danone fondation "Danone Communities" have sponsor the DrupalCon to be able to organize an outreach event to show NGOs what Drupal can do for them.

The idea is to have interest of developers or translators for the specific needs of NGO to work on then in following sprint. They will also sponsor following sprint in France.
