Sony Ericsson's first Drupal site ever, labs.sonyericsson.com, was planned, designed and implemented in just 462 hours by a team of five from NodeOne.

Two things made this possible:

Very close collaboration between NodeOne's team and the customer.
The power of Drupal modules such as CCK, Views, Flag and other which make it possible to build a such complex site with almost no programming.

Building community websites used to be a time consuming expensive process. Thanks to Drupal that is no longer true. In this presentation we will show you how and why!

Designing Grid Systems Does Not Begin And End With 960

Grid Systems should underpin any well-considered web layout. Applying a cookie-cutter approach to this – but using a CSS framework such as Blueprint or 960 (and the Drupal 960 theme) – means you're cutting out a vital process in the design of your site: the design of the grid system itself.

His life outside of Drupal consists of working for other clients (yes, we do that!) such as ESPN, Warner Brothers and the BBC. He also writes the odd book, runs workshops and speaks at conferences.

Why (as a developer) should I care? (What's in it for me?)
Trying to underline the broader scope of the Drupal community- Drupal is used by plenty of people who don't contribute, don't follow along- how do we as a community address their needs and concerns? Not just designers, either, but designers' clients too (end users).

Why is the design community important? What value is there in addressing their needs?

Finding a way for a strong design and user experience culture to develop in open source software communities could be one of the more critical challenges for open source projects to address if they are to remain sustainable or, better still, go close to meeting their incredible & exciting potential.

Since around August last year I've been working with the Mark Boulton Design & the Drupal open source community to make some pretty fundamental changes to the design and user experience firstly of the Drupal.org website and now to the user interface for the upcoming release of Drupal 7.
