English We balk at some of the more uninspired themes seen in everyday Drupal sites. Some sites we can't stand, and some contrib themes we want to bury alive. If you've ever found yourself at a loss as to how designers harness their creativity to produce exceptional designs, this is for you.
I'll be talking about some of the foundations of web design including color, typography, and layout and basic ideas in how you can use design concepts to create awesome-looking sites without being that creative. By the end I guarantee you'll have gained some insights to tweak some design elements in your own themes.
Audience
This session is geared toward developers with some experience in theming, as well as designers who would like some refreshers in basic concepts of design. Beginning themers may also find this session valuable. There will be some coding involved.
Prerequisites
- Some knowledge of CSS. Those in the audience should have at least worked with CSS several times while theming.
- Proficiency in theming. You should know your way around the theme layer.
I'd love to have a co-presenter designer sign on with me if interested.
