This is a wonderful story full of color and components, beauty and bicycles. Over a year ago, Zack Rosen and Matt Cheney started a small company called Mission Bicycle to sell customized and personalized bicycles to urban cyclists in San Francisco. We were dissatisfied with the inelegant and overly branded bicycles sold in stores and wanted to produce something wonderful. Over the next few months, with a little help from our friends and with a lot of Drupal, we began selling and manufacturing customized bicycles right out the Chapter Three office.

Over the next year we grew the business by adding additional staff, moving the operation to a larger space, and expanding our product line. As sales began to increase and a number of positive press stories came out, we attracted the attention of some really cool people and were able to close a modest investment round to open our first retail store on Valencia Street in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District.

This session will tell the story of Mission Bicycle and speak specifically to how Drupal (and the lessons it teaches us) made it all possible. Through plenty of pictures and stories, we will talk about our startup experience and how Drupal can be a wonderful business partner.
