English Great! You've finally convinced your client or boss to move their old, clunky site over to Drupal.
But this might only be half the battle.
You might quickly find out that they are still stuck in the static-HTML mindset, what I like to call "the Curse of Dreamweaver." The symptoms include:
- A tendency to micro-manage pages
- Insistence on pixel-perfect renderings
- Confusion about architecture vs. navigation
- Pre-occupation with the homepage
- And just general misunderstanding and misapprehensions about the database-driven website
We'll take closer look at all these symptoms, discuss strategies to deal with them, and explore drupal-specific solutions that will make everyone happy.
wysiwyg editors, file management for end users
The related big hurdles are
- integrating a wysiwyg editor
- making file management easy for users
It can be a deal-breaker. The clients want this to be easy and so far I must confess it isn't.
Every time I think I've found a stable editor setup, there's a problem.
I haven't seen these topics covered elsewhere in the sessions list.
Sorry if it seems too unrelated to your session; for me, it tends to come up right after I've converted someone's flat site to Drupal and they start trying to use it.
