Interaction Designer/Graphic Designer

pingVision is seeking an expert Interaction Designer. We're looking for a talented, experienced, detail-oriented person with an understanding of user experience, user interface design and information architecture. Familiarity with the Drupal content management system is desired, but not required.

This is a full-time position. We're looking for people living in the Boulder/Denver area, or open to moving there.

Responsibilities

• Interaction design, including creation of flow-charts, wireframes, mock-ups and design comps
• Graphic design
• Branding & logo design
• Prepare web designs for templating and "skinning"
• Some CSS and xhtml mark-up, but emphasis is on design
• Client contact throughout design process
• Work closely with developers and other designers
• Active participation in the Drupal development community

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required:

• Experience in user interface design and graphic design for web required.
• Ability to work iteratively on multiple concurrent projects.
• Professional experience working to direction.
• Expert skill with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Fireworks, GIMP a plus.
• Familiarity and experience in the open source world.
• Interest and ability to learn the Drupal CMS and its workflows are required.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Client relations skills for occasional contact by phone, email and IM.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also good at collaboration, taking direction and working with others.
• Verbal and written proficiency in the English language.

The following are not required, but would be positives:

• Graphic design experience for print.
• Experience and proven ability in semantic markup, microformats and cascading stylesheets. (This is not a Dreamweaver job. Hand-coding expertise is s strong plus.)
• Experience with GTK+ and/or Qt.
• Multilingual is always a plus!
