What this Job is All About?

Project managers are leaders in our delivery process, and work with Technical Leads and Internet Strategists to deliver outstanding solutions for our clients. Here's what we expect from someone in this role:

* Create and execute time and action plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
* Collect requirements from clients and work to define them where necessary.
* Identify resources needed to complete individual tasks and assign responsibilities in conjunction with technical leads.
* Conduct frequent check-ins with clients to communicate progress, demonstrate the operations of web products and collect feedback where appropriate.
* Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects and scope, reviewing deliverables prepared by team for accuracy and functionality.
* Monitor for scope changes and effectively communicate issues internally and externally.
* Effectively apply our rapid development methodology to all projects and enforce project standards.
* Ensure project documents are complete, current, stored appropriately, and that stakeholders are aware of the status of documents.
* Manage project budget, monitor for overages and advises client and senior staff on impending budgetary events.

* Build a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.

What You Need to Know

There are some tools that go along with the trade, and it helps to know about the industry. We are looking for people with a good grounding in some or all of the following concepts and techniques:

* Basic office communication tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio. You have to know how to operate these tools and/or their open source equivalents to keep up with our team.
* Open source solutions, including web applications, the LAMP stack, Linux, and correlative technologies that go along with these solutions. Basically, we are looking for people who are already articulate in these areas and ready to learn more.
* Social media, including online communities, social networks, widgets, mobile solutions, blogs, Twitter, Flickr, and other services.
* Rapid application development methodologies, featuring daily check ins and weekly project reviews.
* Project management techniques, with strong preference given to PMPs with a background that includes constructing project plans from proposals and negotiating detailed requirements with clients.
