Tim Homewood

I'm coming to DrupalCon as a Drupal novice but with plenty of experience in related areas.

I've been working on web sites and applications since 1996. I was a self-taught developer but after forming Sputnik Agency (Melbourne, Australia) in 1999 I moved into IT management. At Sputnik we struggled for many years to develop our own CMS, ultimately settling on a PHP/MySQL system.

In the last two years I've been working on a community contemporary dance website, contemporaryDance.com.AU, which is built on Joomla! Frustrations with Joomla!, and Drupal's great reputation have now led me to investigate the potential of Drupal.

So far it looks great.

I'm hoping DrupalCon will give me a intensive exposure to Drupal. I'm particularly keen to hear how others have found working with Drupal and to find ways I can get involved with the Drupal community.

My particular areas of interest are integrating with social networking tools and delivering video through the website.

In my spare time I dance (contemporary dance of course) and in the past have been a professional theatre actor and director and playwright.
