The Story with PayPal

At the worst possible moment, PayPal decides to detect some suspect account activities. (?)

This was already the case last Thursday and we could unblock the situation, as we sent a confirmation and proof of our activities (namely the DrupalCon).

However, and bizarrely, they studied our account again and decided to block any payment again this morning, with the same explanation: suspect account activities. (?)

We ask you for your patience, we are harassing them, sending them proof after proof. But this is just how bureaucratic France is. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; and we are right in the middle of this.

We will of course, prolong (again!) the deadline, by the amount of hours payments were blocked.
This, again, applies also to the voting on sessions. (what an advantage to all the proposers --> do some advertising). :-)

Check the site (blog, twitter) for any news on the status.

Thanks!

I have experienced this in

I have experienced this in the past. If you have an old account with them, then there should be no reason for this. If the account is new, unfortunately, they will begin to flag and question everything.

I found this to work in some cases. Call in to Paypal and ask for the highest tier supervisor available. Be calm in your conversations. Then ask to do a 3 way call with the super visor and Drupal's lawyer. This will normally show them you mean business and then they (hopefully) will send you on to someone who can do an account review over the phone.

The important thing is to be professional, patient, but firm.

Thanks for all the effort that goes into figuring these things

Thanks for all the effort that goes into figuring these things out.
Appreciate keeping us posted.

Typical PayPal. It's not

Typical PayPal. It's not France. They do this in America, too.

Yes. It's PayPal.

Frankly I have no patience for them. This type of BS is exactly why I cancelled my personal account with them.

Thanks for the update, though.
