It seems the first day is for developers.
I am basically a systems administrator, although I get drawn into some development.
So, should I arrive on day 2? Or would it be smart to arrive on day 1 and soak up the heavy-duty developer knowledge? {and is day 1 part of the registration price?}

and it is not only for developers.

We will have a commercial training track as well.

DrupalCampParis - day 1?

Are there any updates as to what the commercial training is?

The only update I have seen, is that "Day 1" is now running as an Open BarCamp http://barcamp.org/DrupalCampParis4

You paid for the entire week.

You paid for the entire week. Unless you don't like socialising with other Drupal geeks I recommend you just get here early. In case you don't like what's going on after all, you just take a streetcar downtown and do some sightseeing :)

First Day

Judging by this thread: http://paris2009.drupalcon.org/forum/commercial-training-track-day-1
...there still seems to be some confusion - especially among those of us who haven't attended a Drupalcon before - about what is happening on the first day, and what is included in the week's ticket price. I'm guessing things will become clearer as the schedule firms up, but it would be good to hear the official word on this.

In any case, I think you're right that turning up on the first day, if only to mingle and see what's going on, is the thing to do.
